Director of Operations
Zhang, Yu was born and raised in Wuhu, China (about 2.5 hours West of Shanghai by bullet train). She majored in English and worked as an English translator for the first three years of her career, before moving to the United States in 2007. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance and Accounting in 2010 and worked for the next eight years as a senior financial analyst for two different Fortune 500 companies.
Yu was raised during the “one-child-only” period in China, an era that esteemed boys and discriminated against girls. While working as a translator, she also learned the profound impacts of mental health disorders on family, as she helped her mother to face head-on the effects of border-line schizophrenia through prescribed medication.
Today, Zhang, Yu is happily married to her husband Chris, and they are eagerly expecting her first child. She shares her experience, strength, and hope with others through The Bridge Recovery Homes. Yu has an exceptionally positive attitude, and she is a fantastic cook. She enjoys experimenting with different dishes in the kitchen and sharing the results with family and friends. Yu maintains an active healthy lifestyle through diet, yoga, acupuncture, and counselling.
